Here is a piece of new from Reuters about toys made in Mexico being recalled. I’m at my wits end here folks. If I can’t find toys made in the U.S. I’ll go to European toys before I buy one more piece of garbage with too much lead or part that won’t stay attached. At least Europe enforces some decent standards. Yes, it’s more expensive. The cost of lowered I.Q.s due to lead poisoning is much, much higher however. They’ll tell you that unless your kids are EATING their toys it’s all fine. Nonsense. If 70% of your kid’s toys contain too much lead I don’t care what they kids are doing with the toys. They don’t need to be grazing on them for it to be a problem.
It’s not just the U.S. that’s having problems – this headline from Australia is extremely alarming. Date-rape drugs in toys!? (banging my head on desk here).
Where does it end? It ends with us folks. Refuse to participate in the poisoning of our children!
